Letter to first born
My Eva,
So, the big day has arrived – the day you officially step into adulthood. Can you believe it? Time really does fly, doesn't it? But before we dive into the present, let's take a little trip down memory lane.
You were once my little clingy baby, always craving attention and holding onto my fingers for dear life. Dressing up was your favorite pastime, eagerly selecting tomorrow's outfit like it was a red-carpet event. From mastering the art of selfie taking, making tik Toks, peer pressure, change of school, target obsession to blossoming into a fiercely independent woman making her own decisions, you've certainly come a long way. Now, you're the one giving me fashion advice and coaching me through social dramas. Crafting college applications, managing household chores, and even guiding Anya – you've truly taken charge.
I must say, I couldn't be prouder of the person you've become. Despite my questionable parenting tactics, you've turned out pretty darn awesome.
Your hard work, organizational skills, and compassion for others never cease to amaze me. From emceeing the MaiFS walkathon, leading your BPA events, working for Kode with Klossy, NHA finalist, crocheting, to your impeccable taste in music (Taylor swift to, K-pop to Doja cat), you've always had a knack for shining bright.
Now that you're officially an adult, here's my one piece of advice: embrace the chaos. Life is messy, unpredictable, and occasionally downright bonkers, but that's what makes it beautiful. So go out there, make mistakes (within reason, of course), take risks, and never forget to laugh at yourself (it's cheaper than therapy, trust me).
And just because you're 18 now doesn't mean you stop being my baby. You'll always be my little bundle of joy, even if you tower over me and have a skincare routine that puts mine to shame. Journey from mummy to Mumma to mom to Bruh has been incredible.
Here's to you, my amazing, funny, and slightly sassy daughter. May your adulthood be filled with laughter, love, and a truckload of adventures! don't forget to call me when in trouble!
Happy 18th birthday, Eva! I love you more than chocolate and Instagram combined (and that's saying something).
With all my love and infinite pride,
